Proper laying of the pavers transforms the surface – it becomes durable, neat, and beautiful. But the slightest mistake can disrupt the composition while distorting the desired pattern. That is why it is better to entrust the laying of paving stones to specialists who will develop a design project and monitor compliance with the technology at each stage. Desert Sunview will demonstrate the proper way of laying the pavers professionally.

1) Preparatory work. Regardless of the chosen installation option, this stage must be carried out.

2) Laying. Includes several options:

laying paving stones on a sandy base;

laying the material on a concrete ground;

laying on a crushed stone base with a dry mixture.

Step-by-step preparation of the basics

Step #1. It is necessary to break the contour of the area intended for laying and setting up control beacons.

Step #2. It is necessary to determine the flow of water and remove it from the walkway or blind area of the building onto lawns or water wells. The slope can be transverse, longitudinal, or longitudinal-transverse. Its calculation is carried out based on the type of material for laying:

Step #3. After the height level is removed, the desired layer of soil is removed, and the base bed is compacted with a vibrating plate.

Laying paving stones on a sandy base

First, it is necessary to lay the geogrid in the prepared base bed and pour sand with a layer thickness of 3-6 inches. The sand needs to be leveled well with the help of a rule. Particular attention is paid to the slope for water runoff.

It is necessary to pour it from a watering can or hose and tamp the base with a vibrating plate. Curbs are installed on a rigid concrete mix.

You need to dig a trench at the base and fill it with rubble. The curbstones are fixed with a concrete mixture.

Installing the curbs after leveling the surface.

Paving stones are laid using a water pass and a rubber mallet. If there is not enough sand, you can carefully remove one or two pavers and pour in the missing amount.

Slopes are checked by level. The gaps formed between the pavers are filled with sifted sand. When applying it, you need to make movements with a brush in different directions.

The surface is tamped with a vibrating plate. Excess sand is washed off with a thin trickle of water from a watering can. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the essential sand is not washed out of the seams along with the excess.
